The Learning Environment
S.E.E.D.S Childcare is well known and highly respected for its continued commitment to building strong, quality programs that support the development of young children.
Our success is based upon a commitment to:
hiring qualified, experienced educators.
ensuring ongoing training and professional development.
developing strong partnerships with parents.
working collaboratively with community partners.
ongoing enhancement of all childcare programmes
In the year 2000, S.E.E.D.S Childcare identified Reggio Emillio and Emergent Curriculum as the most successful approaches to optimal learning. As such, we adapted our curriculum and went on to share our experiences with other childcare agencies.
Subsequently, S.E.E.D.S adopted The Incredible Years and Dinosaur School, a dynamic programme designed to prevent behaviour problems and promote children’s social, emotional, and academic competence. As with Emillio and Emergent Curriculum, our organization provides Incredible Years training for a range of agencies and community colleagues.
In the Province of Ontario, minimum standards of care are governed by the Day Nurseries Act and all child care centres are subject to annual licensing inspections. In conjunction with the Day Nurseries Act, operators must meet additional standards as determined by Public Health and the Municipality respectively.
With multiple sites across the City of Barrie, S.E.E.D.S provides exceptional care for children from 6 weeks to 12 years of age. At some locations, full-day programmes are offered, while other locations provide only before and after school care.
